Eight Disciplines. One Firm.

Eight NJ trial-practice disciplines: criminal defense, DWI, traffic, personal injury, family law, landlord-tenant, estate planning, municipal court.

Avery & Avery, Esqs. is a generalist New Jersey trial firm with eight standing practice areas. Generalist depth — not boutique specialization — is the right shape for our clients: most Bergen and Hudson legal problems arrive in clusters, and a single firm that can work the cluster is the right shape for the work.

Founding partner Robert W. Avery has practiced in every Superior Court vicinage in the State since admission in 1976 and served fifteen years as Judge of the Ridgefield Municipal Court (1986–2000). Partner John S. Avery (admitted 2012) concentrates on criminal defense, DWI, and constitutional search-and-seizure practice.

Six-County NJ Footprint

We practice in Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Passaic, Morris, and Sussex counties. We do not claim to serve every NJ county — effective trial practice is geographically focused.
